Fifteen years ago a man...

Fifteen years ago a man on board ship between California and Hawaii wrote a love letter to his wife, put it in a bottle, and dropped it in the ocean. The letter said, in part, "If, by the time this letter reaches you, I am old and gray, I know that our love will be as fresh as it is today. If this should never reach you, it will still be written in my heart that I will go to extreme means to prove my love to you."
Ten years later that bottle was found, washed up on a beach in Guam. The finder sent the letter to an American newspaper that eventually found the woman to whom the love letter was written. When the reporter read her the note, she laughed, and said, "We're divorced," then slammed down the phone.
Stories of vanished love always have poignancy and heartbreak in them. When relationships are broken, there is always tragedy, but no more so than when the love relationship between God and his people is broken.
God, however, remains firm and steadfast. "You shall no more be termed Forsaken and ... Desolate." "As the bridegroom rejoices over the bride, so shall your God rejoice over you." God will bring together, through his victorious love, all those who have fallen from him.
