A friend of mine told me about the most special piece of furniture in his house. When I asked him to describe it, he told me about a bedside table that seemed like the most ordinary table in the world. "What makes that bedside table so special?" I asked. It certainly wasn't the design, or the wood, or the stains on the wood. It could not have been the lamp, or the drawer, or the clutter of magazines on the bottom shelf. "I'll tell you what is so special about this table," he said. "When I reach this place at night, I sit down on the edge of the bed, close my eyes, and place my hand on this table. Then I pray to the Lord Jesus that he will pick up every worry and concern that I am laying down upon it. I can feel all of my disappointments, my frustrations, and my fears leaving my mind and traveling to the fingers of my hand that are resting on this table. I remember his promise, 'Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.' When I lift my hand I feel good knowing that what I had, he now has in his control." -- Runk
