At the funeral there was almost nothing but happiness. It was an odd thing. It seemed like someone should be sad. But as testimonies of how God had used Virginia's life were told, as people remembered how faithful she had been, and as people remembered her faith in God supporting not only herself but so many others in times of trouble, they could only experience a deep-seated feeling of gratitude. Virginia's life with them was over, but the Jesus in whom she had trusted was risen from the dead. The God who had raised that Jesus from the dead was still very much alive and well. And for that reason, as the prayers at Virginia's funeral were said, they were an act of unceasing gratitude to God for having shared this life with them.
