Having just written the most...

Having just written the most glorious affirmation of faith, Paul stopped writing, in the midst of his letter to the Romans, and took a walk. As he walked he looked into the faces of his people, the Israelites, many of whom hated him for being a follower of Jesus. By the time Paul returned, his anguish was great. On his knees he prayed, "Almighty God, I have great sorrow in my heart. I could wish I were cut off from Christ for the sake of my own people, for from them comes the Messiah, who is over all, God blessed forever. Amen."
Silence filled the room and with a heavy heart Paul got up from his knees and continued his letter to the church at Rome.
