He taught guitar for forty...

He taught guitar for forty years, instructing many students. He wasn't the best teacher, but
he was among the most patient, though; he taught me. One day we chatted after another
of my dismal performances. His face brightened as he described the solitary student who
wrote him a thank-you note. That treasure didn't take long to write. It cost the writer less
than a dollar, stamp and all. But it brought such joy.
Business people know the importance of gratitude. They thank us for flying their airlines, purchasing their computers, and buying their groceries. We love hearing "Thank you."
You probably owe some expressions of gratitude. Write them and you'll likely receive a few -- some costing more than a dollar. Actually, the pricey ones with pictures and fancy poetry don't mean as much as handwritten expressions. Write today. You'll put a happy face on someone. And you'll probably smile inside.
"As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, continue to live your lives in him ... just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving."
