The heart and the lungs...
Illustration
The heart and the lungs are the most vital of organs. They are the body's treasure. It is no mistake from the hand of the Creator that they are situated behind a solid series of bones that form what we call a rib cage. These bones provide protection against the normal level of frontal assaults that come our way. The poor ribs suffer all kinds of afflictions -- bruises, cracks, and even an occasional break. If they were able to talk, it is sure that they would tell us that it is no picnic being the protector of these very vital organs. Nevertheless, they would surely be proud. For without them, the life they protect could not go on as a physical and viable entity. -- Fairlie
