How are you able to...

"How are you able to do it, Dorothy?"
Dorothy looked up at Cindy and smiled at her question. "The Lord is with me every day. I have no doubt about that." "But you have been through so much," Cindy argued. "When your child was born with cerebral palsy, I thought that was just horrible. Then, your husband was so sick at home and now is at the Care Center." Dorothy nodded her head. "The way I look at it is this. The Lord knows what's coming ahead of time. Everything that happens is his way of preparing me for what is just around the corner. Caring for my son for those many years has enabled me to deal with Henry's illness." Cindy was amazed at how she understood things. "What about your cancer that the doctor just diagnosed? Are you going through with the surgery?" "Yes, I may lose part of my body to that. But, it's not unlike having to let go of my husband to place him in the Care Center. The Lord will give me strength for this, too. The Lord is always one step ahead of me." Such faith and peace is "the power at work" within Dorothy, strengthening with might through his Spirit the inner person. -- Molldrem
