I believe in the resurrection...

I believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I do believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I think I believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I sort of believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. I'd like to believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It's hard to believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It's hard to conceive of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. What do you believe in the resurrection of Jesus Christ? The community of faith at Corinth was wondering what they believed about the resurrection of Jesus, and Paul responded with quite a theological heavy, the epistle text appointed for today, a carefully crafted logical argument. A reasonable argument, a logical argument. It is the sort of argument we learned to make in debate clubs or philosophy class, if ... then ... if no ... then not ... ending with a clear statement of the argument. But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruit of those who have died. But for those of us who sort of believe in the resurrection, who kind of believe, who find it difficult to imagine, logic falls short. We need to hear the music of the faithful as it is chanted in a haunting fashion down through the years, see the stained glass windows at Canterbury that tell the stories of countless pilgrims. We need to know that people are willing to go to Bosnia to help others there, people who could have just as easily stayed home because they feel compelled by the presence of the risen Christ. -- Steffey Morrow
