It was Bill's first night...

It was Bill's first night at college, his first night away from home. As he walked across
the campus with his new, and as yet relatively strange, roommate, they heard guitars and
singing. They veered in the direction of the music. Around a large bonfire a group of
students was singing. The song they sang was new to Bill. "They will know we are
Christians by our love, by our love, yes they'll know we are Christians by our love."
It was, of course, the campus Christian club. They invited Bill and his roommate into their circle. Bill joined in the singing, drank hot chocolate, and listened to their stories. Very gently, with love and a joie de vivre that Bill had never experienced before, they eased Bill into his first year at college. Because of their loving deeds, Bill became an active member of their group and more importantly, returned to the faith that he had abandoned during high school.
It was indeed a case of Jesus' words coming true, "By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
