It was not easy being...

It was not easy being Jerry's parents. Too many times they got unwelcome calls ... a teacher about Jerry's bad behavior, a police officer telling them that Jerry was in their custody after a fight, and the list got longer as Jerry got older. Finally, Jerry did something bad enough to get sent to prison. While he was incarcerated, he did not allow his parents to visit him. He assumed they would tell him how bad he was and how badly he had messed up his life.
After three years, his time was almost up and he had no idea what he would do once he got out. So it was a huge surprise when he walked out of the prison and saw his parents waiting there to drive him home. Amazed by their attitude, he went home with them and slowly started to put his life back together. One day he asked them why they took him back after he had messed up so badly.
"It's simple," his dad said, "you're our son. We'll always love you and you're always welcome."
