It's one thing to know...

It's one thing to know God, and quite another thing to know about God. Job learned the difference the hard way! It's one thing to have head knowledge of God, but something quite different to have heart knowledge of God. Job had to discover that difference, too! The difference will make folks humble every time. Ask Job. He forgot, temporarily, that the Creator, not the creature, gets to call the shots. Regaining his memory was a humbling experience that led to genuine repentance. Like Charles Wesley, Job could say:
Father, I stretch my hands to Thee,
No other help I know;
If Thou withdraw Thyself from me,
Ah! whither shall I go?
Author of faith! to Thee I lift
My weary, longing eyes;
O let me now receive that gift!
My soul without it dies.
Father, I stretch my hands to Thee,
No other help I know;
If Thou withdraw Thyself from me,
Ah! whither shall I go?
Author of faith! to Thee I lift
My weary, longing eyes;
O let me now receive that gift!
My soul without it dies.
