Jesus said, Behold, I am...

Jesus said, "Behold, I am coming soon!"
A young pastor, who had just graduated from the seminary, was called to serve his first congregation. He was very excited as the day approached for him to preach his first sermon in the new parish. He worked hard all week preparing what he was to say. He typed his sermon in a full manuscript and memorized every word of it.
When Sunday morning came, he was so nervous he left his sermon manuscript at home, and there was no time to go get it. Everything went well in the service until he stood in the pulpit to preach. His mind went blank --he could not recall a single word of his sermon.
Then he had an idea! If he repeated the words of the Scripture text, perhaps that would help him recall the sermon. So he quoted the text from today's Second Lesson, in which Jesus said, "Behold I am coming soon." But nothing happened. He still could not remember his sermon.
He grabbed the sides of the small pulpit and repeated the text more forcefully, "Behold, I am coming soon." but still his mind was blank. Finally, in desperation, he gripped the pulpit and leaned forward with all his strength, as he shouted, "BEHOLD, I AM COMING SOON!"
All of a sudden, the pulpit broke loose and the pastor fell right into the lap of a sweet little old lady who was seated in the front pew. The young man quickly got up and, embarrassingly apologized to her. But she gently replied, "That's all right, Pastor. I should have moved. You told me three times that you were coming."
