Jesus spoke a parable pointing out the goodness of God. He told about a judge that didn't
care for people, only for himself. And there was a widow who came to him, day after
day, day after day. He did not honor God or try to bring justice. But the widow kept
coming. Early in the morning she was there. At lunchtime when he was trying to eat, she
was there. In the evening when he wanted to relax, she was there. On holy days she was
there. When he should have been able to get way from his work, she was there. Always
with the same request, "I need your help ... please help me ... please help me, please help
me." She obviously had no money, so why should he help?
Finally the response came. "Lady, I don't care one bit for your needs, but to keep you away from ruining every day for me, I will provide justice for you."
Jesus reminded us that God who is truly loving and caring will, without our begging, immediately be on our side to give help and support.
