Jesus turns the world upside...

Jesus turns the world upside down in the proclamation of the Beatitudes.
In 1781 Lord Cornwallis led his British army into a fortified encampment at York-town, Virginia, following a lengthy campaign in the Carolinas. While there, he awaited relief by the Royal Navy. The French fleet intervened preventing either reinforcement or removal of the British forces. French and American troops laid siege to the English forces, and following the reduction of two key redoubts, the British position became untenable. On October 19, 1781, at 4:30 p.m. in response to a letter from George Washington, Lord Cornwallis tendered a formal letter of surrender. During the surrender ceremony a familiar popular ditty, "The World Turn'd Upside Down," was played. The unthinkable defeat of Great Britain by the American colonies had been accomplished.
