John the Baptist's diet certainly was one that we moderns would find strange. But there are people who eat and drink weird concoctions still today. Consider the "Antlix" lollipop, a peppermint lollipop that actually contains polyrachis black ants, which are said to add a peppery flavor to the candy. That not to your liking? Well, how about cheddar cheese flavored baked worms, made from farm-raised, edible worms. Yummy! To wash it all down, take a sip of scorpion vodka ... vodka in which a detoxified scorpion has been infused for three months. The addition of the scorpion is reputed to add a woody taste to the vodka, and is reported to increase libido, lower blood pressure, and help remove toxins from the bloodstream. Cheers!
