John Maxwell, west coast pastor, has a sermon titled, "Feed Your Faith, Starve Your Doubts!" Doubting Thomas has provided many descendents across the centuries, and they flourish in our particular culture. This suggests that the difference between a believer and a nonbeliever may be in large measure the environment in which a person lives and the forces he exposes himself to. One person says: "The heavens declare the glory of God and the universe displays his handiwork." Another person says in his heart: "There is no God!" The nonbeliever does not expose himself to the atmosphere of faith lest he be confronted by evidence he finds disturbing. Thus the answer to life's central issue may be due to what you feed and what you starve. -- Meddock
