Kyle was disappointed that his dreams of becoming a Hollywood star would never come
true. While he did well in his high school and community college drama and music
departments, he failed to get any roles or parts while spending a summer in New York
City. One rainy day, as he was rejected from another play, Kyle stumbled out of the
downfall into a shelter for the homeless. With much time on his hands, he worked for a
while helping the people with their food and clothing.
Suddenly, it occurred to Kyle that there was more to life than personal stardom and fame! He went back home and finished a degree in business and human services, and now finds much more fulfillment in raising funds for needy causes. Kyle is more than a star in his home community. He has had the emptiness of his soul filled by giving unconditionally to others. This is part of the theology of John's Gospel (John 3:16-17; 6:41-51).
