Lance Armstrong won the Tour...

Lance Armstrong won the Tour de France for the seventh consecutive year in 2005. He is, in the minds of many, the greatest cyclist to ever ride the tour. He was clearly the best rider in the 2005 tour and yet he only won one out of the 21 stages that make up the race. It was obvious to most that he could have won most of the individual stages if he had set his mind to it. Instead, knowing how much he needed to do in each stage, he rode with his teammates and saw two of them get stage wins.
Watching this magnificent athlete, it was clear that he wanted to win the tour but it was equally clear that he was out to build up his team. The team came in second overall and stands ready to challenge in 2006 when they will be riding for the first time without Armstrong.
