Last summer I met a classmate of mine who had been passing through the deep waters of affliction and trial. He told me that in the midst of his troubles, he said to his wife, "We've talked about it, and preached about it, and sung about it, and prayed about it; now, we'll see if it works."
"It worked, didn't it?" I said to him.
"Yes," he answered, "it worked!"
Can you show in this church, in this community, in your home, in your place of business, that the gospel "works?"
"For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God -- not because of works, lest any man should boast."
Can we dare to give it a try -- living by grace through faith?
