Leroy was in his early seventies when he took an in-depth Bible study class at his church.
Leroy had been a regular church attendee all his life. Over the years he served his church
with integrity. He ran the family business before he retired. People in the community
loved and respected this godly man.
At first he struggled with keeping up with the daily Bible readings. It was stated that participants would be reading 45 minutes to an hour, six days a week. He was surprised how that commitment cut into his day. He completed all the readings and attended every class. Almost every class he had a question to ask or a new insight to share with the group. It was obvious that Leroy was getting a lot out of the study.
On the last day of class, Leroy said he wished he had taken such a class forty years before. This study helped him understand with greater clarity his faith. Leroy became an advocate for this Bible study, talking to other church members of his experience with the hope that they would also take the study the next time it was offered.
We are never too old or too young to be part of God's plan. The apostle Peter, in his first sermon, quoted the prophet Joel, who speaking for God said, "I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams."
