The little boy pointed to an ancient and huge crocodile in Okeefenokee Swamp in Florida and asked his dad, "Is it real?" The dad went to the ranger and pointed to the huge creature sunning itself on a far mud bank and asked, "Is it real?"
The ranger laughed and said, "You bet. That's old Tom. He's usually hidden underwater, but he comes out on that bank whenever it gets around 80 degrees." The dad and son stared at the reality of something so menacing, so out-in-the-open and so real.
We cannot hide from God. We are always out-in-the-open in his sight. It is God, "with whom we have to do" in all aspects of our lives. Nothing is hidden from God; no creature, no menacing sin, no hidden thoughts, no intentions of the heart. Whether the temperature is right, whether we feel like it or not -- now is the time to strive for God's will in all things: thought, word and deed. It is time to put our lives right "out-in-the-open" with God.
