A little girl wanted to...

A little girl wanted to come to Sunday school to learn about Jesus. But the small church was too crowded and she was turned away. The pastor happened to walk by the sobbing girl and, learning what had happened, took her by the hand and found a place for her with the other children. This so touched the child that she thought about all the children who do not have a place to worship Jesus.
Unexpectedly, two years later, the child died. When the pastor was making funeral arrangements, he came across a tattered purse which had 57 cents in it and a crumpled note written by the little girl. "This is to help build the little church bigger so more children can go to Sunday school." She had been saving for two years and now this was the treasure she offered as her legacy.
The pastor and the congregation responded to the devotion of this little girl, who understood the need to "let everyone who is thirsty come." In the five years following her funeral, inspired by her vision to make room for everyone to come, the congregation had raised $250,000. Today, that little church has grown into a sanctuary that can seat 3,300 people and has also spawned Temple University where youth can learn about Jesus in a setting of higher education.
