Love one another deeply from...

"Love one another deeply from the heart," the minister tells them. A minute later she gives them her blessing as they exchange wedding vows. Each newly married couple has a love for each other that puts the other first: a love that comes deeply from the heart. The apostle Peter wrote these same thoughts to the exiled Christians in Asia, Galatia, and other areas. He encouraged them to put the other's needs first so that their faith and hope could be set on God, who judges all people impartially according to their deeds. How difficult that must be while in exile to maintain the love as that of a newlywed! But Peter tells us that we are ransomed by the previous blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or defect. We are to acknowledge the freedom we have from Christ's death and go forward expressing that love to others. It is as newlyweds who express their devoted love toward one another, putting the other first.
