A man tells of being taken on a tour of a coal mine. At one point, his tour-guide told him to stand still for a moment while he checked another area. Since his guide had the only light, he was left briefly in total, pitch-black darkness. He says he understands as never before what it means to be blind. The return of the light was an equal revelation. He says he now understands what the recovery of sight must have meant to those healed by Jesus and to those persons restored to sight by the miracles of modern medicine.
