Mark recalls the many times he drove past the local shelter. As he drove past, he thought
to himself that he was glad he did not have to live there. Then after suffering some
personal problems and a series of setbacks Mark ended up at the shelter.
While living at the shelter, Mark discovered that real growth came from trusting God at the hardest moments in life. "The worst thing I thought that could happen turns out to be the best thing that ever happened to me in my life," Mark now claims.
Isaiah foretold of someone who "was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises we are healed." We look back at that passage from Isaiah and understand that the person Isaiah wrote about was none other than Jesus Christ. We turn to Jesus for strength knowing that all he suffered was for us.
