In the middle of the Battle of Copenhagen, after the Danish bombardment had continued unabated for three hours, British admiral, Horatio Nelson, was flashed a message ordering him to "discontinue action." Clapping his telescope to his blind eye, Nelson said that he did not see the signal. When the officers around him insisted it was there, he merely reiterated, "I have only one eye -- I have a right to be blind sometimes -- I really do not see the signal."
God has a right to "be blind" sometimes. The Lord turned a blind eye to Israel's past infidelity and gave the people a brand new start.
