Might this prayer have gone...

Might this prayer have gone through Jairus' mind? "Lord of life, my young daughter was dying. I rushed to a holy man, reputed to have healed many. I, president of the synagogue, fell at his feet and begged him repeatedly. I even suggested the means -- laying his hands on my dear little one's fevered body. "Oh, yes, this holy man did agree to come to my child's bedside. But then he stopped and treated some nameless woman's menstrual complaint! He just stood there while my beloved girl died! "Therefore, I pray for divine vengeance upon both this charlatan and the woman. He knew my child's condition was critical, yet he turned his attention to one whose condition had been with her for years. Surely a few more minutes would have made no difference! "And this woman, instead of politely requesting his services, rudely snatched at his garment, thereby making him ritually impure and draining him of spiritual strength. "You know, O Lord, that there is no harsher tragedy than losing a child in death, and now this man thinks he can console my wife and me by going to our home and telling us to have faith! Moreover, Lord, even now he has the mourners laughing at him!"
