Mrs. Kovacs remembered introducing Andrew...

Mrs. Kovacs remembered introducing Andrew to the joys of watercolor painting when he was just a young boy. She had seen great potential in him as an artist and had encouraged him to polish his skills with regular lessons. In fact, she had been pleasantly surprised when he and his parents had asked her to be his mentor and teacher. As a result, she and young Andrew had enjoyed several very productive years together. However, once he went away to college, there had not been too many contacts with him. But she knew he must be too busy with his studies to bother keeping in touch with an old art teacher.
Today she was so pleased to read the headline in the paper announcing Andrew's collection of paintings making a nationwide tour of major galleries. Being a hometown boy, he was featured in a major interview on the front page. Starved for news about him after all these years, she scoured the article word for word. As she finished reading the article, a look of disbelief came over her face as she dropped the paper to the table. Not once had he mentioned those productive years the two of them had shared. In fact, he implied that he was virtually self-taught as an artist. Tears of disappointment washed oven her cheeks as she stared out the window.
