My father-in-law and...

My father-in-law and his brother lived the last years of their life in an assisted living facility. Although it was a number of hours away, several family members were able to visit regularly and met other residents in the facility. We each came back to compare notes on the "Okay Lady."
She'd ask, "You okay? You okay?" She'd respond to our positive answer with her affirmative, "Okay, okay." She answered our questions about her by saying, "Okay, okay." In her limited way she offered concern and care to others as well as stated that, deep down, she was all right.
Her brief statements were like Paul's final few words to the Roman Christians. He says that God's ways are working themselves out through Jesus and the good news about him. This gives us stability of purpose, no matter our disabilities, and turns us to God in praise; because of Christ, deep down life's okay.
