My uncle usually had at least two jobs at once. He'd find something to do with his hands to fill his spare time. One of his more successful ventures was making picnic tables. He made the first one for our family. We proudly unloaded it from the truck and our two families set a big meal on it.
However, he made the angle of the braces (from under the middle of the table top, to under the seat, to the ground) at too narrow an angle. The table worked fine with one person sitting or if an equal number of people were sitting opposite one another. If two people sat alone on one side, we tipped over backward! His later tables had braces adjusted accordingly.
If we don't plan ahead, we can fall over backward. Or, we can be greatly ashamed when we miss a chance to serve God.
