"No pain, no gain" was a byword for the Apostle Paul -- and he was right. Someone once said, "Faith is like a muscle. It grows stronger the more we use it." The late Mother Teresa weighed under 100 pounds and stood less than five feet tall. She wasn't much of a runner. As a boxer, she would have had trouble competing in the strawweight division. Still, Mother Teresa was no lightweight when it came to her charity. Instead, she was a worldwide power for good because of her faith. Both sports and faith require commitment. What might we accomplish as individuals or congregations if we invested an athlete's effort in the daily exercise of our faith?
