Note: This short story is a variation on the tradition of the "Righteous Gentile."
Some things never change. One minister keeps a record of all the people who come to him asking for assistance: travelers in need of gas money, food, lodging for the night, transients in need of meals. He also keeps a record of the number of people who have ever written a note of thanks, called to say thank you or in any manner acknowledged the assistance they received. The "Thanks" list is very short indeed. The minister goes on to say that the short list reminds him to give thanks every day for all the blessings that God has given him. The minister does not want to be reckoned with the ungrateful.
