When we lived in Nepal there were families being torn apart by intermarriage. If a member of a Hindu family turned Christian or married a Christian, they could be thrown out and disowned. They lost jobs and support. So when some converted they kept it a secret. Several wanted to come to America to find a husband or wife. It takes much courage to be a Christian there. Some of my students worked a miracle. They converted their family and sometimes their whole community. One student planted 100 churches. He estimated that there were now over 5,000 converts because of his work. Wherever they went they were saying that our people would be their people. As a result the church grew to over two million in Nepal. There may be the pain of loss for some, but they found a tremendous fellowship of believers to support them.
