"God's not answering my prayer. Why don't my children call me or visit? What have I done?" Questions asked in tears from a broken heart. After her divorce, Kathy's children mimicked their verbally abusive father. Kathy's beaten self-esteem sent her deeper and deeper into a hole. "Honor thy father and mother" (Deuteronomy 5:16).
God commands: "I need those $80 jeans; all the girls have them. If you don't buy them, I'll get them from Dad. He loves me," Catlin whined.
"I need $200 for a dorm outing," Mike barked. "Don't be so tight. You owe me."
"How long do I have to wait?" Kathy asked. Like Kathy, Hannah asked the same question: "Lord, how long do I have to wait for a son?"
"How long?" we ask when the emotional pain continues. "In his time, in his time, God makes all things beautiful in his time" (writer unknown). It's hard to wait, but God's timing is always right.
