An old cowboy story told by Boyce House:
A group of friends in an El Paso saloon were playing a new game - Question and Answer. If anybody asked a question and someone else answered it, the questioner had to buy a round of drinks. But if nobody could answer it, they all had to buy him a drink - provided he could answer his own question.
One merrymaker propounded this interrogatory: "How is it that a prairie dog can dig a hole 50-feet deep and leave no dirt on the outside?"
They all gave up so he triumphantly said, "The prairie dog don't leave any dirt on the outside because he starts at the bottom and digs up."
There was a silence, then someone asked, "But how does he get to the bottom to start digging?"
"Ah," said the first man, "that's your question, you answer it."
