Once upon a time in a land not so far away, a movie actress was asked to be the spokesperson for the Beef Producers Council. The advertising people chose her because she had that "girl-next-door" wholesome look about her. According to the experts, her looks and mannerisms gave her a very high "believability quotient." So they paid her a handsome sum of money to record a number of television and radio commercials ... telling the rest of the world: how delicious beef is; how good beef is nutritionally; and how a person's social standing is certainly enhanced by eating beef.
The advertising campaign was completed and everything looked perfect. The still photos were magnificent. The lighting and sound quality were of the highest caliber. The actress looked and sounded just as the advertising executives had envisioned. The only problem occurred when it was discovered that the actress was, in reality, a vegetarian. Obviously, she was not being a good role model for other vegetarians.
