One little guy, really too...

One little guy, really too young for our junior choir, proudly gave his parents a preview of what they would be hearing at the end of the next Sunday's service. “Here's the way it'll end,” he said, as he started singing the doxology: “Praise God, from whom all blessings flow; Praise him, all creatures, here we go!”
As David prepared to go, it is noteworthy that he remembered his life as one anointed by God to be the psalmist of Israel. He was anointed as king of Israel; but the music and poetry meant more to him than his earthly kingship.
Even today as we remember the mighty King David, it is his poetry and music we appreciate and use. His earthly rule, like all earthly rule, was brief and limited. His music, as we might say, “shall live forever.”
