One of the most magnificent paintings of a miracle performed by Christ hangs in the Louvre in Paris. The work is The Wedding Feast at Cana by the sixteenth century artist Paolo Veronese.
The painting is noted for its brilliant colors and huge size. It measures twenty feet high by thirty feet wide. The product of Veronese's mature genius stands silently each day as thousands of tourists see our Lord in the act of turning water into wine.
I find it touching that Veronese, the son of a poor Italian stonecutter, expressed his faith in the Son of a carpenter from Nazareth by painting for the ages a work showing our Lord's first recorded miracle.
It is also notable that Christ's first miracle occurred in the home of a humble village bridegroom in the insignificant town of Cana.
