Our community was in crisis...

Our community was in crisis. Our water supply had been contaminated with e-coli and over half of our population was ill. People from neighboring communities were afraid to drive into town for fear of catching a disease, which could only be caught from drinking the contaminated water. Parents were afraid to let the children play together for the same reason. My workweek had expanded from 50-60 hours to 70-80 hours a week and I did not know how I was going to keep going. And then I received a letter from a complete stranger. It read in part: "We do not know each other, but I heard you speak on last night's news. I could tell that God's Spirit was working in you and through you as you bring God's healing peace to your community. Please know that you are constantly in my prayers."
As I read that letter I felt renewed in God's presence. From that moment on I have been conscious of God's power that comes to us as an answer to prayer.
