In our litigious society, we have some big trials. Some, I understand, go on for months and hundreds of witnesses testify for and against the defendants, especially if it is a large corporate entity on trial. I'm sure this can be quite a tiring and perhaps boring experience for the jurors, but I am also sure that the attorneys involved feel they want the "weight of evidence" on their side. It may not be the great number of witnesses that testify that influences the jury, but one particular witness among the many. One person who speaks so clearly, to the point, and is so convincing by both testimony and personal bearing that the jurors are certain that what the witness says is true.
