A blooper made good!
In all of our lives there have been times when errors of judgment have been made, but God is always able to make good come out of these times.
Here is one example.
Add to this example some of your own.
Using poor judgment, a Pastor once said kiddingly to a member, "It's good to have you visit with us today ... come back to see us." Her red-faced husband came back to the pastor and said later, "I'm tired of your sarcastic remarks to my family ..."
The Pastor responded, "I am sorry ... if I hurt your feelings let me apologize ..." The Pastor and the husband made an appointment for that afternoon. The Pastor felt he should visit them since it was he who was to blame.
He did visit. He did apologize. But, he had also some other insights. This couple felt guilty for not participating more actively in the church. They were new Christians and felt inadequate and insecure and unloved.
Lessons learned were: 1) sarcastic kidding is hurtful; 2) apologizing (repenting) is healthy; 3) God gives wholeness to fractured relationships.
