A pastor in Ohio tells this story:
While attending a relative's wedding in Cleveland, Ohio, we took a cab from the hotel down to the church. We noticed that cab drivers would always ask us where we were from. Those in our group who said they were from out of town would just be taken to the church without the meter running and charged $5. Those in our group who said they were from Cleveland would see the meter turned on and be charged $1.50 for the ride.
After comparing notes on the price of the cab ride, we were presented with an ethical dilemma: Either tell the truth about where we were from and be overcharged, or lie about where we were from and be charged the correct amount. To lie or not to lie, that was the question. The answer we decided on was to make sure at least one person in the cab was from Cleveland, and to let the Clevelander do the talking.
