The people of Lystra were flabbergasted by Paul's ministry of healing, so flabbergasted that they begin to think that he was a kind of demigod. Surely no mortal could bring this to pass.
One can only wonder whether our seeing has become so skewed that only the most unusually dramatic occurrences in life are taken to be miraculous. W. H. Auden has said "the miracle is the only thing that happens." Translation: Every day God is doing the miraculous through you and me.
Samuel Miller put it like this: "Perhaps a miracle is simply an event from which the inner meaning has been elicited. Perhaps one might dare to say that the powerful meaning of any event, if we could reach it, is always a miracle -- it is always derived from the mystery and power of God." (Man the Believer, p. 97)
