One day Bill with pen in hand sat down at his desk at home. He was feeling blue. He felt as if he had been a failure in life. He had had a successful military career that had been blemished at one point by an unfair evaluation. He had been employed by a corporation which had abused his creative powers. He had owned a business, which for a long time was most successful but later faltered because of a serious illness. The sickness prevented him from financing his sons' educations the way he wanted to.
He was retired now. He was tired too. He felt himself being a failure. His wife wanted to work now and did work to supplement their income. So, he wrote a letter to both his sons. He typed the envelopes which began with The Rev. Dr. ..., Pastor and Mrs. ...
M.P.A., Department Head ... Upon typing the envelopes, coming to Bill's conscious spirit was a phrase like, "God's program shall prosper ..."
Moral:
In God's program, Christ turns grief into elation.
