The preacher stood on the street corner, telling the story of Jesus. But, as people rushed by in the routines on their way to work, the preacher was brushed into the street and almost hit by a bus. The preacher wandered into Circuit City and saw a group of teenagers mesmerized by fifty display units, all tuned in to MTV. He began telling the story of Jesus, but the youth, who were always on the prowl for something new and stimulating, soon became bored and left for the mall. The preacher followed them to the mall and began telling the story of Jesus to anyone within earshot, but the music, the flashing neon signs, and the conversations of merchants selling their wares effectively stifled anyone's attention. Once again on the street, the preacher noticed a poor, injured person who looked lost and alone. Walking up to the person, the preacher offered to share the story. The person looked into the preacher's eyes and said, "I have been waiting for someone to pay attention to my needs. Please, continue."
