President George W. Bush came...

President George W. Bush came to our small city in northeastern Ohio during his re-election campaign. He made the typical campaign speeches and the typical campaign stops, but the thing that impressed me more than anything else was all the work and preparation that took place days and weeks prior to his visit. Security, of course, was paramount. My friend, an air traffic controller, talked with the Secret Service agents long before the day of the president's arrival. Every detail was gone over more than once and the trip went off without a hitch. Never did the agents or other people involved go around complaining that they weren't getting enough attention. It wasn't about them ... it was about the president.
