Ray Gaylord was a local church minister for more than 40 years. Thirty of those years he spent in the same congregation. Of all the things that happened in that church over the decades he is most proud of the fact that with his encouragement, six of the church's youth entered the ministry. He spotted them while they were young. He put the thought in their heads that ministry was a possibility. He nurtured that vision as they grew. He encouraged them, helped them pick a college, and even worked on finding scholarship aid for their seminary years.
Ray is retired now, but he still likes to attend the occasional gathering of ministers -- especially when one or more is present of those to whom he said, "Behold the Lamb of God!" How wonderful it is to see what can happen in someone else's life when we point them to the Christ.
