Rosa Parks died last year (2005) and the United States lost a great person who helped change the landscape of American society. Knowing that God shows no favoritism and that she was loved by God, she took a stand by refusing to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama, and it changed her life forever. In a radio interview many years later, she said, "I wasn't frightened. I decided I needed to know, once and for all, what rights I had as a human being and as a citizen, even in Montgomery, Alabama."
Representative John Lewis said of Rosa, "[She] was this unbelievable, but quiet, poised beautiful young woman who had had enough. She saw segregation, she saw racial discrimination and she came to this point where she felt she couldn't take it any more."
