This scripture directly challenges the privatistic religion of our day. People, all alone in their homes, believe devoutly. Television religion encourages people to touch the set in order to make contact. But, it is not so, biblically, that is. The real power lies within the corporate nature of the fellowship. People who hold fast to a saving experience of Christ yet absent themselves from the congregation of like-minded people, overlook the interlocking network of support and fellowship and love that rises from the people of God as they encourage one another.
