Slajov Zizek, 54, is an anti-Christian Marxist philosopher from Slovenia, a former Yugoslav republic. He has no disciples or followers because he has no consistent philosophy of life. His appeal lies in his "accessible absurdity."
He "applies his critical methodology to his own inquiry," which is another way of saying that he contradicts himself. He will present a problem or a text, and then will say, "I am tempted to think it is just the opposite." Yet he is fond of Marxism and sees Lenin and Stalin and Mussolini as heroes. He attacks the United States, democracy, the war against terrorism, and the invasion of Iraq. He has written a great deal about Christianity and has even lectured on "The Perverse Core of Christianity." He defines that by saying that Christ's sacrifice on the cross offers a way for the Christian to indulge in secret desires without having to pay for them. Zizek apparently does not believe that he is a sinner in need of a Savior, nor does he understand repentance and faith.
The Bible clearly teaches that Jesus followed the will of our heavenly Father and offered himself as the single sacrifice which would obtain forgiveness for us all, for all time.
